This course is designed to provide training to police officers working in any aspect of policing, from the patrol officer to the major crime investigator. Search warrants are now almost a daily occurrence in policing with recent changes to case law. During this course the class participant will learn the skills and tools necessary to draft good quality lawful warrants that will pass the test of judicial scrutiny. This course is designed in such a way that the student spends the morning in the classroom learning theory. The afternoon session is spent in the computer lab drafting warrants based on scenarios. The lecturer and the other class participants then scrutinize those warrants.
