Job Description
If you enjoy a fast-paced work environment and have a passion for serving the local community, then this may be the opportunity for you! As a Seasonal Labourer with the Community Services Department, you may be required to perform various tasks across a variety of workspaces such as municipal parks, open spaces, Credit Union Place, the Multi-Purpose Dome, and/or municipal ball diamonds. Duties will include:
- Maintenance of municipal parks, open spaces, and municipal ball diamonds.
- Landscaping
- Maintaining flower beds, gardens, tree planting, tree removal, and pruning throughout the city.
- Cleaning and/or basic maintenance at Credit Union Place and/or Multi-Purpose Dome.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- Successfully completed grade 12 or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
- Class 3 driver’s license considered an asset.
- Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Have good work ethic, be dependable, and be physically able to complete labour tasks.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work orders.
- Must be available to work weekdays and weekends.
- Experience performing any of the following tasks would be considered an asset: residential or commercial cleaning, light maintenance, operating floor scrubbers, mowing equipment, chainsaws, maintenance of equipment, operation of power tools and/or experience with a compact tractor and loader.
- Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
- Valid basic first aid and CPR certification would be considered as asset.
