Job Title: Turf & Shop Mechanic (Seasonal Golf / Winter Fleet)
Department: Turf / Shop Operations
Reports To: Superintendent / Shop Manager
Status: Full-Time (Seasonal with Year-Round Opportunity)

Who We’re Looking For
Are you the go-to person when a mower won’t mow, a tractor won’t start, or a reel needs a little TLC? Andersons Creek Golf Club is looking for a skilled and reliable mechanic to support our Golf Division during the summer months and transition to our Shop on Graham’s Road during the winter. This role is ideal for someone seeking steady, year-round work, enjoys variety, and takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and ready for action—whether it’s maintaining pristine turf or keeping winter fleets running strong.
What You’ll Be Doing - Summer Responsibilities
Golf Course Turf Mechanic
- During the golf season, you’ll be part of our Turf team at Andersons Creek Golf Club, responsible for maintaining all golf course equipment.
- Keeping Equipment in Tip-Top Shape Perform routine maintenance on mowing units, utility vehicles, tractors, attachments, and small engines
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Grind and sharpen reels and bedknives; properly set cutting units
- Inspect equipment regularly for safety and performance
- Maintain accurate service records and repair logs
Running a Smooth Shop
- Keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, and safe
- Order, track, and organize parts, tools, fluids, filters, and belts Communicate equipment status and needs with the Superintendent
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules to keep the fleet running efficiently
Being a Team Player
- Work closely with the Superintendent and turf crew on priorities
- Assist with grounds work during peak periods (storm clean-up, special projects, etc.)
- Share best practices with operators to minimize wear and prevent breakdowns
Winter Responsibilities – Shop Mechanic (Graham’s Road)
In the winter months, you’ll transition to our Shop at Graham’s Road, supporting fleet maintenance and repairs. Winter work includes:
- Maintenance and repair of snow removal and sanding trucks
- Preventative servicing to ensure winter equipment reliability
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on heavy-duty vehicles
- Keeping the shop organized, safe, and efficient throughout the winter season
- This winter role allows you to stay employed year-round if that is your goal.
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Team
- 2+ years of experience as a turf mechanic, fleet mechanic, or equipment technician
- Strong understanding of gas/diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Experience with reel and rotary cutting units (golf experience is an asset)
- Welding/fabrication skills are a plus, but not required
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage priorities Positive attitude, team-first mindset, and clear communication skills
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (no bus route to these locations)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work early mornings and occasional weekends as needed
