Position Overview:
Mill River Resort is seeking a skilled and service-driven Food and Beverage Front of House Manager to lead the daily operations of our dining venues, including the restaurant, bar, and event services. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional guest experience through high service standards, effective staff leadership, and seamless operational execution. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, hands-on leader, and passionate about hospitality. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Oversee daily front-of-house operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and guest-focused service. Develop and implement service standards and procedures to drive consistency and satisfaction. Monitor presentation and service quality across all venues. Present weekly updates at Management Committee meetings, highlighting wins and challenges.
- Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise front-of-house team members. Conduct regular performance reviews and offer ongoing coaching and development. Foster a supportive, collaborative workplace culture focused on high standards and team growth.
- Guest Experience: Ensure superior guest service by addressing concerns and resolving complaints promptly. Use feedback and industry trends to implement service improvement initiatives. Build positive guest relationships to enhance loyalty and overall resort experience.
- Financial Management: Assist with front-of-house budgeting, including cost control, revenue targets, and forecasting. Monitor performance metrics and take corrective action where needed. Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director on cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.
- Marketing & Promotions: Partner with the marketing team to plan and execute dining promotions, events, and seasonal menus. Contribute ideas to attract new guests and retain regular patrons through creative engagement strategies.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Maintain a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff. Conduct regular safety inspections and quality control audits.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in front-of-house management.
- Minimum 5 years in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proven experience with budget oversight and financial tracking.
- Proficient with restaurant management systems and POS software.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs over short distances. Comfortable working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
