Job Description
A Day Camp Supervisor oversees the participants, ensures their safety and well-being, leads activities, and fosters a positive and engaging environment for a fun and enriching camp experience.
Supervision and Safety:
- Supervise participants at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being during activities, meals, and free time. • Know and enforce all safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
- Maintain constant surveillance of designated areas, especially around water activities.
- Know the whereabouts of participants at all times.
Activity Leadership:
- Plan, lead, and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Facilitate and create lesson plans for daily activities.
- Organize and lead various small and large group activities.
- Encourage participation and interaction.
Camper Support and Development:
- Provide a positive and supportive environment for participants.
- Assist participants with personal needs and challenges.
- Promote positive interactions and teamwork among participants.
- Mediate any participant disputes.
Camp Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized day camp space.
- Assist with daily setup and cleanup.
- Maintain accurate program records, including incident reports and attendance.
- Ensure participants dietary restrictions/allergies are addressed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and other day camp staff.
- (Other duties as assigned)
Qualifications
Skills and Qualities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with children of various ages and backgrounds.
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Patience and flexibility.
- Leadership and organizational skills.
- First aid and CPR certification (preferred)
- Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
