Job Description

A Day Camp Supervisor oversees the participants, ensures their safety and well-being, leads activities, and fosters a positive and engaging environment for a fun and enriching camp experience.

Supervision and Safety:

  • Supervise participants at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being during activities, meals, and free time. • Know and enforce all safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of designated areas, especially around water activities.
  • Know the whereabouts of participants at all times.

Activity Leadership:

  • Plan, lead, and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities.
  • Facilitate and create lesson plans for daily activities.
  • Organize and lead various small and large group activities.
  • Encourage participation and interaction. 

Camper Support and Development:

  • Provide a positive and supportive environment for participants.
  • Assist participants with personal needs and challenges. 
  • Promote positive interactions and teamwork among participants.
  • Mediate any participant disputes.

Camp Operations:

  • Maintain a clean and organized day camp space.
  • Assist with daily setup and cleanup.
  • Maintain accurate program records, including incident reports and attendance.
  • Ensure participants dietary restrictions/allergies are addressed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other day camp staff.
  • (Other duties as assigned)


Qualifications

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with children of various ages and backgrounds.
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude. 
  • Patience and flexibility.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
  • First aid and CPR certification (preferred)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
