Job Description

The Chef (Head Cook) – Inventory Manager is a key member of the Club’s Management team, reporting to and working closely with the Front of House (FOH) Manager and the Club General Manager to achieve the standards and goals set by the Board of Directors. The core job functions are safe, sanitary management of kitchen operations; food preparation, cooking, meal presentation, and kitchen cleanliness within established guidelines; menu planning; food purchases from approved vendors within established guidelines; inventory control and management within established guidelines; junior kitchen staff training and supervision, fostering a team environment of cooperation and collaboration with all Clubhouse staff members to ensure a positive experience for all employees and a superior dining experience for all Club members and their guests. This role provides daily service to our members and customers as well as for special events such as weddings, corporate meetings and banquets, and a variety of Club and private social events with food and beverage service.

Qualifications

A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, or an acceptable combination of training and experience, as well as - • Experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a full-service restaurant • Current training and a strong understanding through experience, of workplace safety as well as safe food handling and sanitation standards • Strong understanding of purchasing related to inventory management and profitability • Strong understanding of scheduling to maximize productivity and profitability while ensuring a reasonable workload for staff and a positive experience for all Club guests • Excellent communications and organizational skills • Supervisory experience in a restaurant kitchen setting is considered an asset • Professional demeanor and the ability to interact in a positive way with Club members and their guests, visitors, co-workers, and vendors • Dedicated to food quality and providing a superior dining experience for all guests • Workplace safety and basic first aid training, or a willingness to learn

You are creative and collaborative, working with Club Management and with customers on custom menus for their special occasions. Bring your fresh and exciting ideas to us. You have excellent time management, organizational and communication skills, and can work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Hours are 11 am to 8 pm, Tuesday to Saturday and 11 am to 2 pm on Sundays in July and August, weekends only in June and September. Work starts in mid-May and ends in mid-October 2025.
