Here at Knead a Brake we focus predominantly on Croissants (as well as Bicycles and Coffee). However, bread is a staple we aim to always provide and Gluten Free items are a necessary baked item for a lot of our customers. We make everything from scratch and love to create new products and flavour combinations using as many local ingredients as possible. This position may start earlier than date stated above for training purposes if the successful applicant is available. Training is a priority for us as this is the corner stone to a harmonious work place as well as producing a consistent and top quality product. We want to make sure the successful applicant is comfortable and confident in their new role. The following duties and responsibilities apply to an applicant who would be cross trained (if possible) between 'croissant', 'bread & elements' and 'gluten free'. Duties: - weighing/preparing ingredients - mixing croissant dough, bread dough, sourdough - laminating and shaping croissant using dough sheeter/laminator - shaping bread dough & sourdough - prepping and making additional elements ie Curd, Creme pat., ganache, etc. - prep, bake and package gluten free items Additional responsibilities include: - managing ingredient stock - managing production stock - working well within a team as well as on your own - spacial awareness and excellent time management. - implementing food safety standards |
This job requires written and spoken English. Heavy lifting (20kg +) and prolonged standing are also required. Food safety certificate is required. We require someone who has worked with different types of dough and who has a basic level of baking experience, whether that be home baking or within the industry. Training with be provided.
