AOTW | Fahie and Okwuwolu named Hurricanes Athletes of the Week

Soccer players Ali Fahie and Eberechi Okwuwolu have been named the Holland Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 24.
Fahie, a first year player with the Hurricanes from Hammonds Plains, NS scored twice in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over the STU Tommies in Cornwall. She opened the scoring in the 39’ before giving the Hurricanes the lead in the 55’. The Hurricanes would face the UNBSJ Seawolves on Sunday with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
The 5’7, striker is currently enrolled in the Sport & Leisure Management program in her third year of eligibility.
Okwuwolu, a second year player with the ‘Canes from Nigeria recorded two shots on goal on Saturday versus the Tommies in a 4-2 win before scoring in the 14’ in the Hurricanes 3-1 victory over the UNBSJ Seawolves on Sunday.
The men’s Hurricanes sit at 6-0 on the season and are in first place in the ACAA standings.
The 5’11, midfielder is currently in Open Academic Studies at Holland College.
The soccer Hurricanes remain at home this weekend when they host the MSVU Mystics on Saturday and the UKC Blue Devils on Sunday. Games take place at 2 and 4pm (W/M) each day with all of the action taking place at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall.
