The seventh race of the 2020 Canadian eMotorsports Series regular season takes place this Tuesday at the Chicagoland Speedway, the Factory Downtown 200.
The 133-lap race around the 1.5-mile asphalt tri-oval will have scheduled cautions at lap 40 and 80.
Five drivers have secured their place in the playoffs by earning victories this season, led by Darcy Ford (number 64, Suck it Up Septic Ford for Atlantic Motorsports, PEI, Canada) leading the way with two.
Also earning wins so-far this season has been Jacob Nelson (number 9 Chevrolet, Tennessee, USA), Scott Bailey (number 4 Chevrolet for NBR Motorsports, Michigan, USA), Shane Cannon (number 88 Chevrolet for NBR Motorsports, Ontario, Canada), and Waylon Brown (number 67 Chevrolet, Alberta, Canada).
The highest ranked driver in the standings without a win so far is the number 81 of Kevin Fenech (Primary Engines Inc. Chevrolet, Ontario, Canada) who sits sixth and has averaged an 8.17 finish through six races this season.
The top sixteen drivers in the standings will qualify for the playoffs; those currently sitting in a playoff spot have begun to separate themselves from the rest of the field.
Trevor Kinsey (number 6 Ford, Michigan, USA) currently holds the final playoff spot, having a 15-point advantage over two drivers tied for the seventeenth position.
Within the sixteen that currently sit in a playoff position, the race is very close however.
Drivers in the seventh to ninth positions are only separated by six-points, while tenth to 16th is only separated by 14-points.
Here is a listing of the top 20 drivers in the standings entering the Factory Downtown 200.
