We have almost hit the quarter mark of the 16-race 2020 Canadian eMotorsports Series regular season as we head to the virtual-Homestead-Miami Speedway on Tuesday, June 16, for the Sports Centre Physiotherapy 200. 

30-plus drivers from across North America will compete on the 1.5-mile oval with the pre-race show beginning at 7:45pm eastern, and the race following at 8pm; both broadcasts can be found at www.facebook.com/eMotorsportsCAN.

The series announced that it will use a modified race format on Tuesday, with caution flags disabled but scheduled cautions for the ends of the first two stages, on laps 34 and 67; there will be a total of 134 laps in the race.

Chevrolet has dominated to start the season, winning the first three races and occupying all spots in the top five of the driver standings.  Jacob Nelson, Waylon Brown and Shane Cannon have all clinched their spots in the post-season with their victories.

In total there are 12 Chevrolets competing in the series, alongside 16 Fords and six Toyotas.

Nelson (Clarksville, Tennessee, number 9) was victorious at the Holland College 250 at Daytona, Brown (Grande Prairie, Alberta, number 67) took the checkered flag at Auto Club in the Cooke Insurance Group 200, and Shane Cannon (Cambridge, Ontario, number 88 for NBR Motorsports) was victorious last week at Atlanta in the Darcy Allan PR 250.

Rounding out the top five in the driver standings is Scott Bailey (Allendale, Michigan, number 4 for NBR Motorsports) and Kevin Fenech (Toronto, Ontario, number 81, Primary Engines Inc.) who are second and third in total points, but currently winless.

With drivers knowing when the two caution flags will be displayed, pit strategy and the ability to stay near the front of the field for the duration of the race will be the keys to success.

Looking back at the pre-season race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on May 5, here are five drivers predicted to have strong races this week.
