After 16 weeks of regular season races, it is now time to begin the 2020 Canadian eMotorsports Network NASCAR Series Playoffs. The “Round of 16” begins on Tuesday at the Darlington Raceway for the Fix Auto 250.
The top 16 drivers from the regular season have their hopes on winning the series championship for 2020; the first step is to advance through the Round of 16, made up of races at Darlington, Richmond and Bristol.
Tuesday’s Fix Auto 250 will be comprised of 183 laps with scheduled cautions on lap 50 and 100. A race win during the playoffs will secure your spot in the next round.
This is the first races this season that will award additional points to the top ten finishers at the end of stages one and two. Tuesdays race will also have a throwback theme, where drivers will run throwback, or alternate, paint schemes at the historic raceway.
When considering how the 16 playoff drivers performed at similar tracks during the regular season, plus adding their playoff points earned, fans are encouraged to keep an eye on Daniel Cudmore, Lee Campbell, Scott Bailey, Trevor Kinsey, Kevin Fenech, Michael Robinson and Jason MacQuarrie, as they will no doubt be battling to stay inside the top-12 in hopes of advancing to the next round, while the other nine drivers are favorites to advance.
Here is a look at the 16-playoff drivers entering the post-season and their point standings entering the opening race at Darlington.
