Ford wins ADL 200 in thrilling fashion at Las Vegas

The Round-of-12 playoffs could not have started in more dramatic fashion for the Canadian eMotorsports Network NASCAR Series than on Tuesday night at the ADL 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

In the 20th race of the 2020 season, Darcy Ford (PEI, Canada) went to victory lane, edging Scott Bailey by only 0.018 seconds, securing his position in the Round-of-8.  This was Ford’s fifth victory of the season, and the closest margin of victory we’ve seen in 2020.

Rounding out the top five was Bailey (Michigan, USA), Ryan Gibson (West Virginia, USA), Mike Marini (Ontario, Canada) and Corbin MacAulay (PEI, Canada).

Ford started the race from the third position, while Jose Mercado (Florida, USA) and Bailey were the winners of the two-stages.

Here are the official results from Tuesday night at the ADL 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

With two races remaining in this playoff round, Mercado, Gibson, Bailey, MacAulay, Nelson and Marini all sit in comfortable positions with between 26 and 46-point cushions over the ninth-place driver of Jason MacQuarrie (PEI, Canada).

Currently holding the eighth and final advancing position is Chad Hyder (Ohio, USA), while Daniel Cudmore (PEI, Canada) sits five-points back in tenth, and Trevor Kinsey (Michigan, USA) sits six-points back in eleventh; Kevin Daigle (Ontario, Canada) is in twelfth and eleven points back.

The two remaining races in this round have the potential to create some excitement as drivers try to lock up their positions in the Round-of-8. Next Tuesday the drivers will take on the Talladega SuperSpeedway for the Fix Auto 250, followed by the Pepsi 200 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval; both tracks could potentially see surprise winners emerging victorious.

Here is a full breakdown of how the Round-of-12 sits after Tuesday night.
