The Canadian eMotorsports Network Formula 1 Series is set to celebrate American Thanksgiving at the virtual Circuit of the Americas for the Domino’s Pizza United States Grand Prix, the 13th round of the season.

The live broadcast will begin with the pre-race show at 7:30 p.m. EST on the Canadian eMotorsports Network Facebook page, followed by live qualifying starting at 7:40 p.m. EST, and then by the race itself immediately afterward.

Corbin MacAulay of Hurricanes eMotorsports picked up his seventh victory of the season at the Summerside Toyota Japanese Grand Prix last week, extending his lead to 44 points over Darcy Ford of Ares Racing as he gets closer to clinching the championship.

MacAulay’s success also has Hurricanes eMotorsports atop the constructor standings, currently holding a 26-point lead over second-place North Border Racing.

Home to Formula 1 racing since 2012, the 5.513-km Circuit of the Americas layout features 20 turns and plenty of unique challenges.

The lap begins with a climb from the start-finish line up to Turn 1, a left-hand hairpin ripe for overtaking that drops down 140 feet into Turn 2, which is taken at full speed.

From there, the next section of the circuit is another set of ‘S’ curves taking drivers from Turn 3 to Turn 7, where a good exit is needed to set up an important part of the lap.

A short run through Turns 8 and 9 transitions into a short straightaway connecting to Turn 10, followed by a medium-length straight before braking hard into Turn 11, where a clean exit is crucial as the circuit’s longest straightaway awaits.

The 1.016-km straightaway is another crucial overtaking area on the circuit, particularly with another heavy braking area into Turn 12 waiting at the end. From there, Turns 13 and 14 are very technical corners, leading into the double left-hander at Turn 15, where drivers may find themselves locking up under braking.

Turns 16 through 18 make up a triple right-hander taken at full throttle before a short straightaway into Turn 19, a 90-degree left-hander where drivers can lose control if they don’t take the right line, before finishing with the relatively simple hairpin at Turn 20 to get back onto the start-finish straight.
