It’s crunch time for the drivers of the Canadian eMotorsports Network NASCAR Series as they prepare for the final regular season race of the 2020 season on Tuesday at the Daytona International Speedway, the Cracked Device Co. 200.
The top 16-drivers in the point standings, including all drivers that earned wins during the regular season, will advance to the post-season following the 16th race of the season.
Michael Robinson currently holds the 16th position in the standings by 23-points over Jason Butler. Anyone not in a playoff position will desperately be trying to get to victory lane on Tuesday to clinch one of the 16-spots in the post-season.
The top drivers will also be jostling for as many extra points as they can earn prior to the playoffs. The top-ten in the standings following Tuesday’s race will receive bonus playoff points that will be applied at the start of each of the three playoff rounds. The regular season champion will earn 15 playoff points, with second claiming ten. Third place will earn eight, fourth will earn seven, all the way down to the tenth-place finisher earning a single bonus point. These will be added to any playoff points already earned from race winners this season.
Following Tuesday’s race, all playoff drivers will be reset at 2000 points before playoff points are added to their totals. The top-12 drivers in the standings following the first round of the playoffs (Darlington, Richmond, Bristol) will advance to round two.
Here are the 2020 driver standings entering the Cracked Device Co. 200 at Daytona International Speedway on Tuesday night.
