Three days of wonderful playing conditions came to an end on Saturday as a mix of rain, wind, snow and frigid temperatures hit the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island for the final day at the 2018 CCAA National Men’s Soccer Championship.

Game 11: Holland Hurricanes 2, STU Tommies 2 (Holland wins on penalty kicks) | 7^th/8^thPlacement Game

In a battle of the ACAA, the Holland Hurricanes outlasted the STU Tommies in penalty kicks, after the match ended in a 2-2 tie through 90’.

The Hurricanes would have a strong opening half with goals in the 23’ and 39’ to hold a commanding 2-0 at halftime.

The Tommies would storm back in the second half of the match, scoring first in the 63’ and completing the comeback in the 78’.

With the victory, the Hurricanes finish the event in seventh with the Tommies placing eighth.

The Player of the Game for the Hurricanes was Andrew Henry while James Russell was recognized for the Tommies.

Game 12: Langara Falcons 3, NAIT Ooks 2 | 5^th/6^thPlacement Game

The Langara Falcons erased a two-goal deficit to defeat the NAIT Ooks 3-2 in Saturday’s 5^th/6^thPlacement Game.

A goal in the 6’ by the Ooks gave them the early lead, and they would double their lead midway through the first half.

The Falcons would begin to make the comeback by scoring just before the half, and then knotted the game in the 47’ to even the match; they added one more to earn the victory.

With the win, the Langara Falcons finish the championship in fifth place with the NAIT Ooks placing in sixth.

The Player of the Game for the Langara Falcons was Takumi Ota, while Joey Lajoie was chosen for the NAIT Ooks.

Game 13: Sheridan Bruins 5, Capilano Blues 2 | Bronze Medal Game

The Sheridan Bruins erased a two-goal Capilano Blues lead as they claimed the CCAA National Bronze Medal on Saturday in Cornwall, PEI at the Terry Fox Sports Complex.

After Capilano Blues goals in the 15’ and 18’, the Sheridan Bruins took a 3-2 lead into the halftime break after goals in the 23’, 26’ and 42’.

Insurance goals in the 62’ and 68’ by Sheridan led them to a 5-2 victory, and the CCAA National Bronze Medal.

The Player of the Game for the Bruins was Michael Krzeminkski, while Omar Rostant was chosen for the Capilano Blues.

Game 14: Humber Hawks 1, Indiens d’Ahuntsic 0 | Gold Medal Game

A goal in the 27’ was all that was needed as the Humber Hawks earned the 2018 CCAA National Gold Medal with a 1-0 win over the Indiens d’Ahuntsic.

Both teams battled in an intense, but clean, 90’ match in front of the rest of the competing teams in the championship at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island.

The poor weather conditions left the field prior to kickoff to set up a beautiful end to the National Championship

Stavros Badunas was named the Player of the Game for the Humber Hawks, while Marc-Antoine Chaudry was the recipient from the Indiens d’Ahuntsic.
