Learning Manager - Precision Machinist Block Release

Term position starting September 29, 2025 to February 27, 2026

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Holland College invites applications for a Learning Manager to deliver online/blended curriculum for our Precision Machinist apprenticeship training.   Duties will include:

  • Deliver online/blended training designed to support apprentice success in passing level and Red Seal exams.
  • Maintain training content on the learning management system
  • Evaluate and monitor students’ progress and provide feedback to students.
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and college safety program.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with industry representatives, students, community partners, administrators, educational specialists, and support staff.
  • Order and maintain student learning and other resource materials.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies as they relate to the trade.
  • Ensure compliance with Holland College policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Perform other instructional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of post-secondary training in machinist trade with a Red Seal in Precision Machinist is required coupled with a minimum of 5 years recent/relevant experience in the trade.
  • Broad experience base in the operation of CNC equipment in a production environment.
  • Experience participating as an employee in an industry safety program.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills; experience with presentation software and Microsoft Office.
  • Prior teaching experience and/or Certificate in Adult Education is considered an asset.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and WHMIS is considered an asset.
  • Some evening/weekend work is required.

Learning Manager (as per Schedule A of the Faculty Agreement between Holland College and the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees.

Salary:

$37.25 to $55.08/hr (16 hrs/wk).
