Welshmen Community Band to hold Pops concert

There will be something for everyone at the Holland College Welshmen Community Band’s next concert, which takes place at 7:30 p.m. February 11 at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall on the Prince of Wales Campus in Charlottetown.

"This is our annual Pops concert, and it will feature music in the rock and swing styles as well as selections from the very popular Disney movies," said Christine Blanchard, the Welshmen Band director.

The PEI Regimental Band will join the Welshmen for the concert.

"The Welshmen are committed to connecting and collaborating with other Island ensembles and we are very pleased to share the stage with this fine organization under the direction of Rory O'Donnell." Welshmen Band Director Christine Blanchard

Donations are gratefully accepted at the door in support of the band fund.  In keeping with our community spirit, the Welshmen are collaborating with our local food bank.  Concert attendees are asked to bring a cash/food donation for the Upper Room Food Bank.  Your contributions are very much appreciated.

There is no admission charge for this concert. The Welshmen ask people to bring cash donations to support the band fund or the college’s 50th Anniversary Golden Endowment Fund, or donations for the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry. In the event of a storm closure, the concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on February 18.
