Darcy Ford (PEI, Canada, Atlantic Motorsports) claimed his third victory of the season on Tuesday night in the Canadian eMotorsports Network NASCAR Series. The Fix Auto 250 at the Darlington Raceway was the 13th of 14 regular season races on the 2021 schedule.
Ford started from the pole position and won both stages in a dominating performance.
Chad Hyder (Ohio, USA, Team !Hazzah!) did provide a solid challenge to Ford however, leading most of the third stage before being passed in the final laps and ultimately finishing second.
Rounding out the top-five was Jacob Nelson (Tennessee, USA, Red Dirt Racing), Ty Higginbotham (Missouri, USA, Stars and Stripes Racing) and Matthew Patak (Ohio, USA, Midwest Elite E-Racing).
With the victory, Ford inches closer to Scott Bailey (Michigan, USA, Midwest Elite E-Racing) atop the driver standings. Bailey has four wins this season. The final regular season race is the Cracked Device Co. 200 next Tuesday, May 11 at the Daytona International Speedway.
The top-16 drivers at the end of the regular season will advance to the playoffs. Currently, 14 drivers have secured their berth to the post-season.
Currently in 15th is Kevin Daigle (Ontario, Canada, True North Racin’) holding a 12-point cushion on 17th, while Andy Hertel (Ohio, USA, 519 E-Racing) is 16th and up by five-points. Jason Butler (Ontario, Canada, 519 E-Racing) is sitting in 17th, while Lee Campbell (New York, USA, Team !Hazzah!) is 18th, 14-points back of a playoff berth, with several others still in striking distance but needing an exceptional final regular season race next Tuesday at Daytona.
