Program Manager - Arts, Media and Community Studies

Continuing full-time position commencing August 3, 2026

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to provide leadership and oversight for academic programming within the Arts, Media & Community Studies department. Reporting to the Executive Director, Programs, Curriculum, and Instructional Development, the Program Manager plays a key role in ensuring high-quality program delivery, fostering industry partnerships, and supporting student success. The Program Manager will be responsible for a broad range of leadership, academic, and operational activities, including:

  • Lead the planning, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of academic programs
  • Conduct needs analysis and research to support program planning and development
  • Develop proposals for new programs and major program revisions based on labour market trends
  • Ensure curriculum quality, relevance, and compliance with accreditation and institutional standards
  • Oversee course scheduling, faculty assignments, and program delivery across multiple modalities
  • Prepare reports, analyze program data, and support institutional planning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry, community organizations, and educational partners
  • Support advisory committees and maintain accreditation relationships
  • Identify opportunities for contract training and revenue generation
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate faculty and staff
  • Support student success through effective advising processes, monitoring outcomes, and addressing student concerns
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and contracts to ensure effective and efficient operations
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred or willingness to obtain)
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a related academic or industry environment
  • Experience in post-secondary teaching is considered an asset
  • Proven leadership with the ability to drive innovation and program growth
  • Strong knowledge of academic program development and policy implementation
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Sound judgment and ability to manage complex issues and relationships
  • Strong business and human resource management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment
