In the spirit of Reconciliation, we at Holland College acknowledge that the land and waters we share is the ancestral and unceded traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq Nation. We recognize and pay our respects to the wisdom of the Elders and Knowledge Keepers past and present who connect, care for and share stories of creation.
“We will be more welcoming and more accessible. Our goal is to demonstrate that we, benefit from, and celebrate diversity across our campuses” (Holland College Strategic Plan, 2019, p. 17)
At the heart of Holland College is a commitment to creating a learning environment and workplace where every voice is valued, and every individual feels a true sense of belonging. The Office of Culture and Inclusion leads efforts to build and sustain a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds can thrive.
We develop and implement strategies that support equitable hiring, inclusive leadership, and cultural awareness across the organization. Through strategic planning with a whole systems perspective, we facilitate training, policy development, and the support of employee resource groups and student resource groups. We foster an inclusive culture that celebrates identity, promotes fairness, and drives innovation through diverse perspectives.
Our office also tracks key metrics to ensure accountability and continuous progress, while building partnerships both internally and within our broader community to amplify impact.
Whether you're a student, team member, leader, or partner, we're here to support meaningful engagement, ongoing education, and a culture where everyone belongs.
