Board of Governors announces new Chair, Vice Chair
August 5, 2013
Charlottetown, PE – The Holland College Board of Governors elected a new chair and vice chair recently, Holland College president Brian McMillan announced today.
Kathy O’Rourke is the new chair, taking over from Stan MacPherson. She has been a member of the college’s board of governors since in 2010, most recently serving as vice chair. Kent Scales has been elected as vice chair of the board of governors and chair of the finance committee.
Dr. McMillan said he is looking forward to working with the board’s new executive team.
“Mr. MacPherson’s leadership has been exemplary, especially during a time of both unprecedented growth and financial restraint. We are grateful for his years of service, and pleased that he will remain on the board until his term concludes in 2014. I am confident that Ms. O’Rourke and Mr. Scales will continue the exemplary work of the executive.”
Ms. O’Rourke said that she is excited about taking over the position of chair.
“Working alongside Stan over the past few years, and learning more about Holland College and its place in our community, I am thrilled to be able to take over the reins and continue to move the college forward,” she said.
Ms. O’Rourke will be the twenty-fourth Chair of the Board of Governors since the inception of Holland College in 1969.
