WVBALL | Hurricanes end regular season with a win in Truro

_MG_0656The Holland College Hurricanes women’s volleyball team ended their regular season with a 3-1 victory over the Dal AC Rams in Truro, NS on Sunday. Set scores in the match were 25-11, 22-25, 25-16 and 25-11.

Alice Marques had a match high 11 kills to lead the ‘Canes while Brittany States added six in the win.

Gracie Ferguson had a match high 17 assists in the win while also adding 13 digs.

Dana Trainor also picked up 13 digs while Samantha Gerbig and Megan LeBlanc added 11 and ten digs respectively.

The ‘Canes will finish the season with an 18-3 record and will go into the ACAA Championships as the second seed. The Rams will finish in eighth place with a 3-18 record.

The Championships will be hosted by the Rams, February 24-26. The ‘Canes get a bye into the semi-finals on Saturday, February 25.

The Hurricanes will play the highest ranked team that wins in the quarter-final round while the top-ranked MSVU Mystics will play the lowest ranked advancing team. Quarter-final matches are Mount Allison (3) versus Universite de Sainte-Anne (6) and UNBSJ (4) versus STU (5).
