WRING | Hurricanes split road games on Sunday

The Holland Hurricanes ringette team travelled to Nova Scotia on Sunday for a pair of exhibition games. The ‘Canes would start the day off with a 7-2 victory over the Acadia Axewomen before dropping the second game to the Nova Scotia U18 team by a score of 4-3.
In the first game with Acadia, Alysha Corrigan led the ‘Canes with three goals and one assist while Amy Mol scored once and added three assists.
Isabelle Saunders chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes as did Sidney Corrigan; Bailey Birt, Monica Downe and Jayne Whitehead each added an assist in the win.
The second game, versus the U18 team from Nova Scotia, Isabelle Saunders, Alysha Corrigan and Sidney Corrigan scored for the Hurricanes while Saunders, (Alysha) Corrigan and Amy Mol picked up assists.
Team Nova Scotia recently won the Atlantic Ringette Championships.
The Hurricanes will hit the ice again on March 9-11 when they compete in the Atlantic University Cup in Halifax, NS. The ‘Canes will take on the Acadia Axewomen at 9pm on March 9 and the Saint Mary’s Huskies (9:45am) and Dalhousie Tigers (4:15pm) on March 10.
This season the Hurricanes are 12-5-2 in exhibition and tournament play around Atlantic Canada.
