VBALL | Hurricanes hit the road to take on the STU Tommies

The Hurricanes men are currently tied with the UNBSJ Seawolves for first in the ACAA with a record of 7-3 while the Tommies are in third with a record of 5-3.
The ‘Canes currently lead the ACAA in kills per set, hitting percentage, assists per set and points per set while sitting second in blocks and digs per set.
Individually the ‘Canes have three of the top four players in kills averaged per set in the ACAA with Gordon Veitch, Brett Butler, and Tynan Murphy sitting second through fourth with 2.75, 2.43, and 2.32 kills per set respectively.
Dominique Ryan is third in assists per game with 7.39 while Marcus Lapointe is second in digs per set with 2.11
The ‘Canes are 1-1 against the Tommies this year losing on November 5 in four sets, and winning on December 3 in straight sets.
Game times are set for 8:00 PM on Saturday and 12:00 PM on Sunday.
The women Hurricanes enter the weekend with a 12-2 record and 24 points which has them in a tie for first with the MSVU Mystics. The Tommies will enter play at 5-8 and are sitting in fifth place in the conference.
The ‘Canes currently lead the league in kills pet set, hitting percentage, assists per set and points pet set.
Individually, Alice Marques sits in second in kills per set with 2.84 and is coming off a Hurricanes women’s volleyball single match record of 25 kills last Sunday versus Mount Allison.
Megan LeBlanc is sixth in the ACAA in kills averaged per set with 2.13 while Brittany States is also in the top ten as her 1.90 kills per set has her tenth.
Marques also leads the conference in hitting percentage at 0.274 and points per set with 3.6. Gracie Ferguson currently leads the ACAA in assists per game with 7.29 and is coming off tying a school single match record with 46 assists last Sunday.
The Hurricanes are 2-0 against the Tommies this season winning in straight sets on November 5 and in four sets on December 3.
Game time is set for 6:00 PM on Saturday.
