SOC | Hurricanes open up season on road versus Rams and Chargers this weekend
September 7, 2017
It’s a new season for the Holland Hurricanes as they make the trip to Nova Scotia on Saturday for a pair of games against the Dal AC Rams. The action will continue on Sunday in Moncton when the Hurricanes will meet the Crandall Chargers; the women kick things off at 2pm while the men follow at 4pm on both days.
The Hurricanes men’s team feature a mix of returning veterans and new recruits. They will look to start strong on the road in 2017 as they attempt to defend their ACAA championships from the past three seasons.
Head coach Jonathan Vos has been impressed with what he’s saw during his team’s training camp.
“We’re looking forward to getting things started,” he shared. “The team has been training hard for the past two weeks and we’re anxious to step onto the field this weekend in Truro and Moncton.”
The Hurricanes women’s team, coming off an ACAA championship winning season in 2016, has a solid core of returning players mixed with an impressive group of rookies. Kris McKinnon is happy with what he has saw during the past few weeks on the field.
“Our players are excited to get the season started,” he shared. “We have been focused on our goal to challenge for another ACAA title and this weekend will be a great test.”
