Hurricanes look to make move on final day at nationals

The Holland Hurricanes have positioned themselves well at the
CCAA PING National Golf Championships in Quebec City through two rounds. Friday will mark the tournament’s final round.
As a team the men are sitting in fourth place through two rounds with scores of 295 and 294. They trail the leaders, Fraser Valley by sixteen shots. They are just three strokes back of third place St. Lawrence.
Individually Eric Locke fired a round of 2-under par 70 yesterday to move up into a tie for ninth place in the tournament.
Brett Wilson shot a 76 yesterday and now sits in a tie for 17th alongside teammate Mathieu Arseneault who carded a 73 yesterday.
Neal Ryan fired a 75 yesterday and sits in a tie for 28th while Justin Shanks was 79 and sits in 33rd. The field is made up of 76 players.
The leader is Colton Kalkanis of Georgian College, he has fired back to back rounds of 68 to lead by five strokes.
On the women’s side, Hurricanes player Tariqah Walikraam who fired a 79 in the tournament’s first round followed that up with a second round 82. She currently sits in sixth place.
Valerie Tanguay of St. Lawrence has carded rounds of 67 and 71 to lead by seven strokes heading into the final round.
Walikraam trails third place Dani Sharp by just four strokes.
