BAD | Hurricanes set for ACAA Championships and CCAA Qualifiers

On Saturday, females Emma Hughes, Kristyn Visser, Juana Zhang, Maggie Renouf and males Josh Watkins, Jonah Wilton, David Cozens and Larry Liang will battle for the ACAA championship.
On Sunday the Hurricanes will be back in action as they attempt to qualify for the CCAA National Badminton Championships hosted by Seneca College in Toronto, ON.
The ‘Canes are coming off of a second place finish at the final ACAA regular season event last weekend at Mount Allison in Sackville, NB.
The women’s A doubles teams of Emma Hughes and Kristyn Visser and Rachel Wang and Maggie Renouf in the B category both picked up a full ten points during the event.
The ‘Canes finished the competition with 58 points in total; they picked up 12 in women’s singles, eight in men’s singles, six in men’s doubles and 12 in mixed doubles to go along with the perfect 20 in women’s doubles over the course of the event.
The ‘Canes will be competing against teams from Dal AC, Universite de Sainte-Anne, Mount Allison and UKC this weekend in Halifax.
Competition for the ACAA Championship begins at 12:00 PM on Saturday with competition for the CCAA qualifiers beginning at 9:00 AM on Sunday.
The ACAA will hold its 2017 Badminton awards banquet on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM where they will celebrate the top players from this season.
