Addressing Food Insecurity

At Holland College, we understand that the rising cost of food can create challenges for students.

No one should have to choose between eating well and focusing on their studies. That’s why we’ve created a variety of programs to help ease food insecurity and make sure you feel supported throughout your time here.

From food shelves on campus to breakfast programs and meal kit initiatives like Student SKILLit, we’re committed to providing practical, affordable options that meet your needs. These resources are designed to help you access nutritious food, build lifelong skills, and feel confident knowing your college community is here for you.

Our goal is simple: to make sure every student has the support they need to succeed - both in the classroom and beyond. Scroll down to learn more about our programs.

Student SKILLit

Our Student Skillit project will help you build the skills and confidence to prepare healthy, affordable meals.

Each week this semester, receive a meal kit with the ingredients and instructions to make a nutritious dish that serves about four generous portions.

Kits are designed with mostly non-perishable ingredients to keep them simple, practical, and budget-friendly. This program is especially meant to support students who could benefit from a little extra help stretching their food budget while still eating well.

For a registration fee of $50, you’ll receive a meal kit every Wednesday at either Prince of Wales Campus, Summerside Waterfront Campus or The Culinary Institute of Canada throughout this first semester. Space is limited, and meal kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If this program feels like the right support for you, we encourage you to register today.

Please read carefully the agreement below and ensure that you are able and willing to meet all of the expectations for your participation before registering.
