Collège de l’Île and Holland College join forces to promote post-secondary education opportunities on PEI
April 26, 2017
Charlottetown, PE – Students, their parents and all community members from Îles de la Madeleine, Québec, will explore post-secondary opportunities offered by Collège de l’Île and Holland College when the colleges visit the area May 4 to May 7, 2017.
“In addition to strong language and cultural ties to PEI’s Acadian and Francophone community, we have much in common with Îles de la Madeleine when it comes to an Island way of life,” said Collège de l’Île President Donald DesRoches. “We look forward to showcasing post-secondary programs available in French and in English to future students and the job opportunities associated with these programs.”
The archipelago of Îles de la Madeleine is composed of a dozen or so islands which form two municipalities. The two community colleges are joining forces to promote Prince Edward Island as a unique educational destination during this first joint exploratory mission to the Québec region.
“Holland College has welcomed students from the Îles de la Madeleine in the past, and they have enjoyed pursuing their post-secondary education here. Our unique partnership with Collège de l’Île means that we can now provide students with an even more rewarding learning opportunity,” said Michael O’Grady, vice-president of Innovation, Enterprise and Strategic Development at Holland College.
Students, their parents, and all community members are invited to joint information sessions on May 6, 2017, at the Centre récréatif in L’Étang-du-Nord, from noon to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
