Graduation Information Hub

Graduation ceremonies are going to be a little different this year. Holland College is working closely with the province’s Chief Public Health Officer to ensure our graduation ceremonies are safe for everyone in attendance. Graduations will be in cohorts of 50 with physical distancing required at all times. Graduates will be required to wear a non-medical mask during the ceremony but they can remove it before walking across the stage.

You can find links to the videos of the 2020 and 2021 graduations that have already taken place here

Things you should know before Graduation Day

I have a financial hold on my account, can I still graduate?
No. Your account must be paid in full before you are permitted to graduate.

How do I know if I am eligible to graduate?
Login to your Webadvisor account and run your program evaluation. This will confirm whether or not you have met all your program’s graduation requirements.

If I do not attend graduation, how do I get my diploma?
Students who earn a credential but do not attend their in-person graduation will have their diplomas mailed to them. Make sure your address is up to date in Webadvisor.

Will I be able to get professional grad photos prior to graduation?
Heckbert's Photography of Summerside is the official photographer for Holland College graduations. If you live in Summerside or West Prince, you can book an appointment to have your portrait taken in the studio in Summerside. Heckbert's will also be on the Prince of Wales Campus April 12 to 16. Graduation Day Details

Are guests allowed?
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, guests are not permitted at our in-person graduation ceremonies this year; but the ceremonies will be live streamed. A link to the live stream will be available on the Graduation Information Hub.

Since guests are not allowed, who will take my photo when I receive my diploma?
We will have a photographer in attendance to take a photo of you receiving your diploma. You will receive instructions at your ceremony on how to access your photo.

What should I wear to graduation?
Students are encouraged, but not required, to wear business casual clothing. Graduation gown length is approximately mid-calf, and you will be required to walk outdoors, so please keep that in mind when choosing your outfit and footwear.

Will there be a secure place to leave my personal belongings?
We discourage you from bringing any personal belongings that you cannot carry on your person (no bags, coats, hats etc). Once you exit the designated registration area you will not be permitted to return.

When should I arrive and where do I go?
Please arrive for registration 30 minutes prior to your ceremony start time. Enter the Charlottetown Centre through the main entrance on Kent Street to register, receive your gown, and line up with your classmates.

Where do I park?
Graduates are asked to utilize on street parking as well as the student parking lot on Grafton Street. Parking permits will not be required

Will I be able to purchase a frame or other souvenirs at graduation?
Yes! Samuel’s Campus Store will be on site with diploma frames and graduation memorabilia. Should you be looking for HC swag or other items, you can also visit the store in the Charlottetown Centre!

I’ve read through the FAQs and still have questions; who do I talk to?
You can email your inquiries to: student-inquiries@hollandcollege.com with GRADUATION 2021 in the subject line.
