The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada and Holland College will co-host an open house on Monday, September 11 to provide information about the Celtic performing arts classes that will be held on the Prince of Wales Campus in Charlottetown.
The open house, which starts at 6 p.m., will feature the World Pipe Band Champions from the College of Piping. Just back from Glasgow, Scotland, where they earned the title, the band will perform a medley and the march that won them World Champion status. The small band of young pipers competed against bands from around the world to win the title.

The evening will also include information about the courses being offered on the Prince of Wales Campus this fall, demonstrations by dancers, pipers and drummers, and an introduction to the instructors who will be teaching the classes. Prospective students may also register for courses during the open house. Parents, prospective students, and anyone interested in the Celtic performing arts is welcome to attend.

The Celtic performing arts classes that will be offered in Charlottetown are Great Scottish bagpipe, Scottish style snare drumming, Highland dance and Island step dance.  All students are encouraged to help one another, study their lessons, and practice their art, and gain confidence through competitions and live audience performances.
