Beat the Winter Blues with SoPA

Charlottetown, PE – Beat the winter blues with alumni and faculty from Holland College’s School of Performing Arts (SoPA) Music Performance program at a fundraising concert on Friday, March 3 in the Florence Simmons Performance Hall.
The concert is an initiative of the Music Performance faculty to raise funds for instruments and equipment for the program.
Instructors Alan Dowling and Deryl Gallant of the Jive Kings, Alan White of More Soul, Chad Deagle, Ken Fornetran of Norman Marshall Villeneuve, Joey Kitson of Rawlins Cross, Ian Toms, Sean Ferris, Mark Parsons and Kendra MacGillivray will perform, along with graduates from the program, including Coyote’s Evan McCossham and Bruce Rooney. Max Keenlyside and Nancy Milligan will also perform.
Current students in the Music Performance program will entertain guests during a silent auction held in the lounge of the Performance Hall prior to the show. The silent auction and student pre-show entertainment will start at 7 p.m., the concert will start at 7:30. A bar and concession services will be available. Tickets are $10, and may be purchased in advance from any Music Performance faculty member, at the SoPA Music building located at 275 Kent Street, from the Florence Simmons Performance Hall box office, at Long and McQuade, or at the door on the night of the show.
