XC | Hurricanes runners finish with bronze medal performances at ACAA Championships

Over fifty-five runners took part in the championship with 30 women and 25 men representing the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons, MSVU Mystics, Dal AC Rams, Mount Allison Mounties, Crandall University Chargers and Holland Hurricanes.
On the women’s side, Hurricanes runner Haley Shea (27:12) finished third capturing a bronze medal on the six-kilometer course just behind gold medalist Hannah Arseneault (Dal AC) and Taylor Crosby (second, 26:43, MTA). Other finishers for the Hurricanes included Lisa Kerbler (9th), Sonja Parkman (19th), Christena Visser (25th) and Brittany Brown (30th).
On the team side, Mount Allison (30 pts) edged out second place Dal AC (34 pts) to solidify gold while the Hurricanes women (57 pts) missed the podium, finishing fourth behind the third place MSVU Mystics (38 pts).
The men’s eight-kilometer course saw Hurricanes runner Scott Langille finish fifth (31:20) behind Matt Fyfe (MTA) who captured gold with a time of 28:18. He was followed by Dal AC runner Kieran Thronell (30:10) who finished second, MTA runner Andrew Linton (30:49) in third and 4th place finisher Kyle Culberson (31:04) of Dal AC.
In the team category Mount Allison edged out Dal AC by three points to capture gold with a team score of 21 while the Hurricanes finished with a bronze medal at 39pts.
Other Hurricanes finishers included Sean Sullivan (9th, 35:05), Raymond Umuwe (13th, 35:36) and TJ Markland (19th, 38:18).
