XC | Hurricanes compete in Halifax at ACAA meet

The Holland Hurricanes men’s and women’s cross country running teams travelled to Halifax, Nova Scotia on Saturday to compete in the third ACAA meet of the season. The event was hosted by the MSVU Mystics.
The women completed a 6KM course, while the men competed on an 8KM course at Point Pleasant Park.
In the women’s division the Hurricanes finished fourth behind DAL AC, Mount Allison, and MSVU, respectively.
The Hurricanes were led by Haley Shea (27:24) who finished in second place, while Sonja Parkman (14th), Lisa Maria-Kerbler (15th), and Brittany Brown (27th) rounded out the team.
On the men’s side, the Hurricanes placed third behind DAL AC and Mount Allison.
Scott Langille was just 1:46 behind the leader, finishing in fourth place with a time of 31:50. Sean Sullivan (11th), Raymond Umuwe (15th), and Timothy Markland (23rd) were the other Hurricanes runners.
The Hurricanes will now prepare to host the 2017 ACAA Cross Country Running Championships, October 28th at Brookvale Provincial Park.
