WRING | Hurricanes cap off successful road trip with win

On Sunday the Holland Hurricanes women’s ringette team travelled to Acadia to take on the Axewomen for a two game match-up in Wolfville, NS.

In the first game both teams skated to a 4-4 tie.

The Hurricanes leading point scorer was Sue Ellen McInnis with two points (one goal, one assist) followed by goal scorers Olivia Gill, Paige Blakely and Amy Mol; Christena Visser and Jayne Whitehead were credited with assists. ‘Canes goalie Jessie McCarthy earned the tie in goal.

In game two the ‘Canes came out fast and never looked back defeating Acadia by a score of 4-2.

In the win, Christena Visser led the ‘Canes attack with three points (two goals, one assist) followed by single goal scorers Jade Corrigan, and Olivia Gill. Amy Mol, Brianne Curley and Paige Blakely earned assists in the game while goalie Kate Moss was credited with the win.

The Canes Ringette will play again on Saturday, December 9 in Borden, PEI versus PEI Provincial U19 and NB Provincial U18 teams; game times are 11:30am and 4:30pm respectively.
