MBASE | Hurricanes continue home stand this weekend with UNB/Acadia
September 22, 2017
The Holland Hurricanes are back at Memorial Field at Victoria Park for four home games this weekend when they host the University of New Brunswick (Saturday) and Acadia University (Sunday); games are scheduled for 1 and 3:30pm each day.
The Hurricanes have gotten off to a fast start this season, leading the Atlantic Conference with a record of 5-1. In the opening weekend they swept the Axemen in Wolfville, NS while last weekend in Fredericton they swept UNB. Their other victory was versus the St. FX X-Men where they split the two-game series in Charlottetown.
The ‘Canes have named Brady Arsenault the starting pitcher for game one on Saturday with Colin Arsenault taking to the mound for game two.
On Sunday, Charles MacLellan takes the mound in the first game against the Acadia Axemen, with Steven Conway getting the start for game two.
Head coach Andrew MacNevin feels his team has been playing well and is confident heading into the weekend.
“UNB are our rivals, so it’s a big weekend for us,” MacNevin said. “If we pitch well and keep the bats going I feel like we have a good chance to win this weekend.”
Here is a look at the Atlantic Conference standings heading into this weekend.
