BBALL | Hurricanes in Fredericton for final games of 2017 this weekend

The Holland College Hurricanes wrap up first semester play on Sunday as they travel to Fredericton, NB to take on the STU Tommies. The women will tip off at 2pm with the men following at 4pm.
The women enter play with a 3-2 record on the season which has them in third place in the conference and are ranked 12th in the CCAA. The Tommies enter the weekend with a 1-2 record and sit in fifth place in the conference.
Breauna Rivoli-Johnson leads the ‘Canes in scoring with an average of 22.7 points per game. As a team, the ‘Canes are second in the conference in points per game with a 79.8 average.
On the men’s side, the ‘Canes will be looking to rebound after a tough loss to Crandall last weekend. The loss dropped the ‘Canes record to 5-1 on the season which puts them in second place in the conference. The Hurricanes enter the weekend ranked sixth in the CCAA while the Tommies will enter play with a 2-2 record which has them in a tie for fifth in the ACAA.
Jace Colley with 17.5 points per game and Marcus Dawkins with 17.3 points per game lead the high-scoring ‘Canes. As a team, the Hurricanes are leading the conference with an average of 110.7 points per game and have scored at least 100 in their last five.
This is the first time the Hurricanes have faced the Tommies this year in men’s or women’s basketball action.
