Women’s soccer player Karissa George and men’s soccer player Chad McNally have been named the Holland Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 30, 2024.
George, a first-year midfielder from New Glasgow, N.S., helped the ‘Canes have a perfect weekend, claiming two wins and propelling to second place in the conference. On Saturday, Holland defeated the the Dalhousie Rams 5-1, and, on Sunday, defeated the Crandall University Chargers 3-1. George scored a total of three goals, with one on Sunday being the game-winning goal.
George and the 4-1-3 women’s soccer Hurricanes return to action with a trip to New Brunswick next weekend; Saturday, Oct. 5 will be against the 2-3-3 STU Tommies and Sunday, Oct. 6 will be against the 3-2-3 UNBSJ Seawolves.

McNally, a first-year forward from Truro, N.S., helped the ‘Canes come out of this past weekend with three of a potential six points across two games. On Saturday, Holland defeated the Dalhousie Rams 3-1 and tied the Crandall University Chargers 1-1. McNally scored a total of three goals, including the game-winning goal on Saturday and the game-tying goal on Sunday.
McNally and the 2-4-2 men’s soccer Hurricanes will join the women’s team in New Brunswick with two matches next weekend; Saturday, Oct. 5 will be against the 7-0-1 STU Tommies and Sunday, Oct. 6 will be against the 4-3-1 UNBSJ Seawolves.
