To ask Corbin MacAulay, his Formula 1 Series season would be a perfect 10.

MacAulay capped his championship-winning campaign in style, as the Holland College student and Hurricanes eMotorsports Honda driver captured the Holland College Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for his 10th victory of the season.

Michael Dimitroff saved his best for last, finishing 19.805 seconds back in second place in his Alpha Flow Honda, while Zach Sullivan rounded out the podium positions in his North Border Racing Ferrari.

Mark Cox came home fourth in his MCRaceLab Honda, while Darcy Ford completed the top-five in his Ares Racing Ferrari, capturing the fastest lap bonus point (1:38.144 seconds) in the process.

Don Kasza solidified North Border Racing’s second-place constructors finish after getting to the line sixth, while Ivan Reynolds turned in a season-best seventh-place finish in the second Ares.

Jason Butler followed up his win in Brazil with an eighth-place finish in his 519 E-Racing Bugatti, with the True North Racin’ Renault of Seth McLuckie (ninth) and the second Hurricanes eMotorsports Honda of Colin Doran (10th) rounding out the points-scoring position.

MacAulay finished the season with 331 points, 105 points clear of Ford in second place. Meanwhile, Hurricanes eMotorsports finished with 336 points, 62 points ahead of North Border Racing atop the constructors table.

As has been the norm throughout the season, MacAulay blitzed the field in qualifying, with his time of 1:35.027 seconds good for his 14th pole of the campaign, seven-tenths ahead of Cox on the front row.

The race featured an exciting opening sequence with MacAulay, Cox and Dimitroff trading the top three positions throughout the opening laps.

Ultimately, MacAulay would claim control of the race for good on Lap 3, passing Dimitroff through the triple chicane at Turns 11 through 13 on the Yas Marina Circuit, and only relinquishing the lead to make his two pit stops before retaking top spot for good on Lap 18.

After 43 official race broadcasts in 2020, the Canadian eMotorsports Network officially enters its offseason before resuming with Season 2 of its NASCAR Heat Series in February 2021.
