Description
This training helps learners in all trades prevent, analyze, and resolve issues with the building envelope that reduce energy efficiency. To begin with, collaborative communication and respectful teamwork play a critical role in the "house as a system" concept. In this model, all trades must work together during the home construction process to deliver the most energy-efficient result. With this in mind, the training introduces foundational building science concepts. It empowers tradespeople to better understand the importance of their own work, how it affects others on the job site, and how it ultimately impacts the overall performance of the home. In addition, employees in trades such as construction, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing gain practical skills and knowledge to improve energy efficiency in both residential and commercial buildings. As a result, this upskilling opportunity equips workers with the tools and insight needed to operate effectively in energy-efficient and net-zero environments. Furthermore, the training is delivered in an online, asynchronous format, offering the flexibility for participants to complete the course at their own pace. The self-directed curriculum includes a variety of learning tools-such as instructional videos, reading materials, and interactive quizzes-to reinforce key concepts. In order to succeed, learners must complete all components and pass each quiz before attempting the final assessment. Finally, all coursework must be completed within five weeks from the official start date. Therefore, strong time management and self-discipline are essential for successful completion of the program.
