Holland College Vice President receives Excellence in Public Administration Award

Charlottetown, PE – The 2013 Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration was presented to Michael O’Grady, vice president of Innovation, Enterprise and Strategic Development at Holland College, during a ceremony at Government House on Tuesday.
The presentation of the award was made by Lieutenant Governor Frank Lewis and Janice Pettit, President of the Prince Edward Island Regional Group of IPAC.
“The IPAC Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration recognizes exceptional, sustained achievements and leadership by public service professionals,” said Pettit. “Mike O’Grady understands the importance of these values, and incorporates them within Holland College, with stakeholders, and with the greater Island community.”
O’Grady was selected to receive the award in recognition of his contributions the Holland College’s expansion and redevelopment projects, including the expansion and renovation projects at the Georgetown Centre and the Marine Training Centre in Summerside, the Prince of Wales Campus redevelopment project, the establishment of the Summerside Waterfront Campus and the West Prince Campus, the creation of the School of Performing Arts, and many other initiatives that benefit both the college and the community.
