As a legal administrative assistant, you’ll be an integral part of the legal team, using your superior skills and abilities in technology, administration, and research—as well as your understanding of legal procedures—to help the firm run professionally and smoothly.
If you are detail oriented, a good writer who is also a stickler for grammar, and someone who thrives on keeping things organized (including your time and other’s), you will thrive in this career.
In this one-year accelerated program, you’ll learn all the basic administrative duties, plus get a solid grounding in civil litigation, family law, corporate law, real estate law, and estate law.
On the job training rounds out your skill sets, so you’ll be ready to hit the ground running at your first real job.

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) is the nationally accepted reference on occupations in Canada. It organizes over 40,000 job titles into 500 occupational group descriptions. It is used daily by thousands of people to compile, analyze and communicate information about occupations, and to understand the jobs found throughout Canada’s labour market. This program provides skills training that falls within the duties described in the following: NOC 1242.
- Grade 12 or equivalent with credits at or above the general level.
- Resumé including work and volunteer experience.
