The Accounting Technology program enables you to develop the skills necessary to maintain accounting records for businesses and to prepare personal and corporate income tax returns. You will study financial accounting, personal taxation, cost accounting, business law, corporate taxation and more. Instructors bring in industry speakers, and there will be an eight-week on the job training component to your program. If your grades in the areas of financial accounting, managerial accounting, business law, economics, and computers are acceptable, you may be granted credit exemptions by the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Advanced Certificate in Accounting and the CPA Prerequisite Education Program, as well as at other colleges and universities.

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) is the nationally accepted reference on occupations in Canada. It organizes over 40,000 job titles into 500 occupational group descriptions. It is used daily by thousands of people to compile, analyze and communicate information about occupations, and to understand the jobs found throughout Canada’s labour market. This program provides skills training that falls within the duties described in the following: NOC 1311.
