Students explore factors and their effects on a child's development in the preschool years: ages 2 to 5. Knowledge of milestones in all developmental areas are connected to theorists who have contributed to our understanding of these areas. Students practice observing, documenting and communicating behaviour and development.
Credit Related Information:
This is a credit toward Early Childhood Care and Education program. As well, it meets one third of the requirements for "Entry Level" recognition with the PEI Child Care Facilities Board.
This course has a Blended Delivery which includes both Face-to-Face Class and Distance formats. It will begin with a Face-to-Face class where the schedule of delivery will be discussed. In addition, the delivery method of the course will be technology enhanced and thus will include at least the use of the Holland College's learning management system. The following Saturday's will be Face-to-Face classes: May 11 & 25, June 8 & 22.
