Holland College Graduates Conservation Officers

December 14, 2007, Summerside, PEI... Thirteen students from the Conservation Enforcement program, Squad 12, recently celebrated their graduation at ceremonies held at the Atlantic Police Academy in Slemon Park.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating class was Cadet Kendra McNutt. Guest speaker at this event was Kristian Moore, Manager, New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy.

Erin McEvoy was the recipient of the Conservation Enforcement Achievement Award for the Top Academic Cadet, which is sponsored by the Conservation Enforcement Officers Association of Nova Scotia. Locke Jones was the recipient of the Canadian Wildlife Officers Association Award, which is awarded to the cadet having a solid academic standing and demonstrates the utmost in professionalism.

The 15 week Conservation Enforcement program is designed to provide training to wildlife and forestry technicians. Graduates will be prepared for work in Natural Resources agencies as conservation enforcement officers and in other related fields of enforcement and security throughout Canada.
