Hurricanes Women's Soccer: Ink Younker and Gallant to Roster
Tuesday, June 5, 2012

As hosts of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association's (CCAA) Women's Soccer nationals in November, the Holland Hurricanes will require a new slate of impact players if they are to contend at the championships. With this in mind, the 'Canes are pleased to profile two key recruits to the class of incoming players for the fall of 2012, Laura Younker and Molly Gallant. Both Younker and Gallant reside in Charlottetown and have played on provincial teams representing PEI at various nationals events as well as playing important roles with the Colonel Gray High School soccer teams over the past three years.
'Canes Head Coach Amy Connolly is looking forward to what these players will bring to this year's version of the Hurricanes, "We are very excited to have Molly Gallant and Laura Younker on board with the Hurricanes this season. With their experience at previous national events and their winning attitudes, I am confident they will be natural leaders for the crucial season they have ahead of them. Molly and Laura have the defensive grit and smart offensive counter that we have been looking to bolster in this year's lineup". Younker and Gallant are versatile midfielders who will be counted on to play in pivotal situation in the coming season.
The Hurricanes season will begin in earnest in August and in preparation for the fall campaign the 'Canes have held several camps this spring, including sessions this weekend, to assess new players and set the tone for raised expectations on the national stage.
