MacDonald and Burton receive Hurricanes Athletes of the Week Honours

Lindy MacDonald, Women's Basketball and Allan Burton, Men's Hockey
Charlottetown - The Holland Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week period ending February 5 are Lindy MacDonald from women's basketball and Allan Burton from men's hockey.
MacDonald led the women's basketball team to a 1-1 record in two road-games last weekend if Halifax. Saturday, the Hurricanes had a very competitive game with the second-place MSVU Mystics, trailing by single-digits for a large part of the game before losing 71-52. Lindy scored 16 points and brought down nine rebounds to lead the way for her team. In a big road-win Sunday over King's, the Antigonish, NS native was dominant scoring 30 points and dishing out seven assists, powering the 'Canes to a 75-67 victory.
This is Lindy's second-consecutive week as Hurricanes Athlete of the Week and her third this season. She is a student in the Foundations program at Holland College.
Burton is from Grand Falls, Newfoundland and in his first year of the Sport & Leisure Management program. He plays centre for Holland College Junior Hurricanes Men's Hockey team, members of the Island Junior 'C' league. Allan scored two goals in a comeback win over the Charlottetown Abbies Sunday afternoon in a must win game where the team trailed 4-1 to start the third period. His second goal was scored just nine seconds into overtime to give Hurricanes the 5-4 victory in the team's second last regular-season game. With the win the team has moved into third place in the league standings. Allan has 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 23 games this season including 2 goals and 1 assist in two games last weekend.
