The STCW Basic Safety and Survival Craft courses provide students with hands-on experience in performing the duties of a seaman onboard a vessel in an emergency situation. Facilities include both enclosed and open lifeboats and a davit system. Students will be required to launch and operate lifeboats during an emergency drill, don immersion suits and enter the water, and work as part of a firefighting team at the centre's own firehouse.
