Our Library Catalogue
When you need to locate information sources at Holland College, a good place to begin is Horizon, our information catalogue. It lists books, videos, electronic books, magazines, government documents, and a variety of other materials held by all programs in all of our campuses.You can find our online catalogue at http://library.hollandc.pe.ca.
The following video demonstrations illustrate how you can use the catalogue to find, request, and manage information requests in the catalogue. To view the videos, you will require Windows Media, RealPlayer, or other free media viewing programs (usually installed as plug-ins in your browser).
Search for Information and View Results
- Conduct a simple keyword search and view a catalogue record
- Conduct a search for works by an author
- Conduct a search for a particular title
- "Truncate" or shorten your search term
- Browse holdings by Program
- Limit search results to items in a particular campus
- Limit search results to items in a particular format, date, etc.
- View online, full text electronic documents
- Try a power search
- Add items to My List
- E-mail results to yourself
