PubMed is compiled by the U.S. National Library of Medicine. It is a bibliographic (citation only) database that indexes the literature of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and the health care system. It covers more than 4800 journals published in the United States and 70 other countries; most records are from English-language sources.

ScienceDirect Health & Life Sciences provides the full text of over 1,200 journals as well as abstracts of almost 1,900 journals in the health and life sciences including environmental science, bioscience, and health.  While indexing may extend back as far as 1965, full-text coverage for the titles included in the Health and Life Sciences Collection begins in 1995.

MedlinePLUS, hosted by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, seeks to provide consumers with authoritative, up-to-date health information. Users can browse through over 700 topic areas (reviewed and updated every six months), and links are provided to over 1250 expert organizations. MedlinePLUS also offers a medical dictionary and encyclopedia, drug information, tutorials, information about diagnostic tests, and daily news updates. Access to MedlinePLUS is unrestricted.

Provides information on diseases and conditions, health and safety, and research and statistics.  As well it provides a age-based themed portal on health topics.

Statistics and Data

Statistics Canada Unrestricted Resource

Publishes the "whole range of statistics on the economic and social activities of the Canadian people" on a daily, weekly, quarterly, annual, or irregular basis. Statistics Canada also publishes the Census of Canada at five year intervals.
